An unusual adoption story

So when Jose and I have talked about adoption, we weren't exactly thinking about this type adoption...yeah, Elizabeth and I had been begging Jose to get a dog but he always said "No". So when our friend Leeba called me to ask if we could keep a stray dog that she had found, I said "Yes". I thought that it would be fun to have the dog around for a few days and if the owner was found that she could go back but if no owner came forward then maybe dad would say "Yes" this time :-) After all, who can refuse such a cute face.

Leeba dropped Stormy and brought her everything she might need for the next few days...beds, food, snacks, toys, leash (THANK YOU LEEBA!). She taught be how to feed her and to give her snacks and the off she went. All of a sudden it dawn on me, "Oh My! We have a dog! What is dad going to say when he sees her." So I did what any good wife would do, I text him a picture and told him, "Guess whose here??"

She has been with us for almost two weeks and she is so sweet and adorable. Elizabeth was so delighted to have a dog, although now she is asking when she can get a cat?!? (Yeah, no time soon!) We took her to the vet and she is in very good health except she is a little under weight but we are making sure she is well feed and should be gaining a few pounds soon.

We kept the name Stormy...we liked it and she was found during the one storm of the year, so it is appropriate.

We already have doggie stories like my adventure taking Elizabeth and Stormy to the park...just imagine me carrying Elizabeth in on hand, plus Elizabeth bag and Stormy in her leash in the other while attempting to control her. There is also the Vet visit in which we found out that she was in heat and my destroyed screen door. Jose is still adjusting to the dog and he is doing a fine job at learning the commands and taking her out for walks.      

Nonetheless Stormy, you weren't exactly what we had in mind when we have talked about adoption but God is good and He knew this is what we needed right now. Welcome home Stormy!
