Our first weekend in Puerto Rico was spent in the beautiful Northwest part of the island, the city of Isabela. Next to the cool breeze and shinning sun (for the most part), we celebrated the union of my brother, Edwin, with his girlfriend Kalynn. People flew from all over the country, including her dad and siblings from Alaska!!! Elizabeth got initiated to the Puerto Rican culture in full throttle, with a weekend long of partying and celebrating. Although she got overwhelmed at times (everyone wanted to hold her)...she did remarkable well.
One funny anecdote was when we left her at the hotel lobby, sleeping in her little car seat and Dee agreed to watch her while Jose and I went to dance for a while. After dancing two songs, Jose and I decided to check on Elizabeth to make sure she was still sleeping...well, call it mother intuition or just coincidence but poor Dee was holding a hysterical, screaming Elizabeth, who had just woken up to no mommy or daddy and wanted nothing to do with Tia Dee. Mom and dad came to Dee's rescue and Elizabeth was put back to sleep...and we are still laughing at the scene.
